We have been preparing for the first-ever ACT and Pre-ACT testing day for all sophomores and juniors in our school district. This is a huge endeavor for our students, families, and school staff members. As communicated to you earlier, February 20th is our testing day. All sophomores and juniors are scheduled to report to school; all freshmen and seniors are excused from school that day. ACT testing centers require absolute testing integrity, which is the primary reason we are only requiring attendance for the test takers. We also need all adults to provide a secure testing environment as proctors, hall monitors, and operational testing center managers. We recognize this is an inconvenience for freshmen and senior families; however, providing the ACT and Pre-ACT to ALL is a demonstration of our commitment to equity and our vision: Every Learner: Future Ready. We look forward to this becoming a long-standing opportunity for all future graduating classes of CRCSD. We are confident we will learn much during this year for future considerations.
IN CASE OF WEATHER ON FEBRUARY 20TH, 2019…
We want to communicate our back-up plan in case February 20th brings a late start or school cancellation.
If there is a late start or cancellation on February 20th, we will POSTPONE ALL PRE-ACT and ACT testing. If there is a LATE START, a late start schedule will commence on February 20th and classes will be held for all 9th-12th graders. This will allow for an instructional day for all high school students, and the originally scheduled testing day structure will be postponed until the make-up day. In that situation, FRESHMEN AND SENIORS SHOULD REPORT along with Sophomores and Juniors.
PRE-ACT AND ACT MAKE UP DAY WILL BE ON MARCH 12TH IF NEEDED DUE TO WEATHER CANCELLATION ON FEBRUARY 20TH. Please plan accordingly for your students that day if it is needed as a testing make-up day.
