Alison Herr Goril

Miss Herr is now Mrs. Goril, having gotten married June 2009. Alison Herr was born in Iowa and raised near Keota. She grew up showing quarter horses, showing every year at the Iowa State Fair. Her degree is from Iowa State University, where she majored in biology and teaching. While at Iowa State Ms. Goril worked as an RA and a biology TA and traveled as part of her biology training. She spent the summer of 2004 in Australia studying biomes and was a camp counselor for Camp Adventure in Hawaii in the summer of 2001. Ms. Herr is a member of the Skunk River Navy (SRN). The year she was active, the SRN collected the most trash.

Ms. Goril likes music. She started playing piano at the age of 5 and still plays to relax. When at Iowa State University, Ms. Goril played baritone in the ISUCF"V"MB (marching band) for two years.
Ms. Goril has been teaching at Jefferson since 2006. Currently she teaches Foundations of Science and Geology. Check these geology links. Ms. Goril is the Science Bowl Sponsor.
