John Hegarty teaches Environmental Science and Foundations of Science. He began teaching in 1980 and came to Jefferson in 1986. In addition to his teaching duties he has been a J-Hawk wrestling coach. He also works for Dwight Hughes Nursery and KCRG 1600 "The Zone" broadcasting metro area football games each fall. In his spare time he enjoys collecting Theodore Roosevelt memorabilia and studying World War II.
